CHAPTER 4 - Point of Purchase, Point of Sale, Selling Aids

Promotional Kits

Manufacturers spend additional dollars to draw attention during the event by providing tabletop easel signs with product information for the passing consumers. Other items, such as, aprons, hats, etc are sometimes provided to make the promotions stand out. Be sure to always use these items during the event hours.

Some other signs may include:

  • "Sample is Hot" sign warns customers if samples are hot.

  • "No Sample to Children without Adult Consent" sign - A child may be allergic to ingredients in the sample. Do not hand a sample to a child. If the child is alone, ask the child to come back with a parent or guardian. Hand the sample to the guardian.

  • "Out to Lunch," sign alerts consumers you are on break and will be returning.

  • POP (Point of Purchase) signs Created for specific promotions together by both manufacturer and sometimes National Marketing Companies. These valuable tools will help event personnel pass the message from the manufacturer to the consumer while executing an event. (Other selling aids, such as, recipes, coupons, or rebates may be included in the POP package).
