Streamlined (and lower cost) StratConn Event Around the Corner

July 15, 2010 by Newsfeed Editor
Filed under Friday Focus, What's in store

stratconnYou will want to be part of the NARMS members who are lining up to participate in the StratConn Retail Execution Resources event scheduled for July 28 at the Marriott O’Hare in Chicago. NARMS is partnering with the In-Store Marketing Institute to bring buyers and sellers together under one roof for a day of highly focused and efficient business meetings that will put you face-to-face with pre-qualified decision makers from top brand marketers. There is still time to register, but that time is running out. If you are interested, please call Gary Goff, Managing Director, Business Development at 847-675-7400 ext. 171 or write him at ggoff@instoremarketer.org by close of business tomorrow (Friday, July 16).

Due to hectic summer schedules and vacations, this event has been streamlined into a one day format. This adjustment has made the event more affordable than ever with registration now set at $8,000. The In-Store Marketing Institute has lined up key brand manufacturer executives with responsibility for retail operations and the execution of in-store merchandising who are ready and willing hear your pitch. We have a very eager group signed up which now includes Kimberly-Clark, Spin Master, McCormick, Novartis, Campbell Soup, Alberto-Culver, Chiquita, Crocs, Mead Johnson Nutrition, Bayer Healthcare, Ghirardelli, Hormel, Black & Decker and there will likely be another five or so to choose from.

The scheduling process allows you to choose up to 10 companies you would like to meet. These requests go through a review process and traditionally host companies get 99% of the meetings that they request. As a host company, you will be assigned your own private, dedicated meeting room that you can set up any way you want. Many host companies use this opportunity to set up displays, sales aides and computer equipment. The highly organized and efficient process sees a member of the staff bringing the guest company to you for a 30 minute session.

StratConn Business Meetings are designed to be as convenient as possible and represent a remarkably efficient use of your sales dollars. Where else can you get 10 high quality meetings with pre-qualified buyers in one day? The Marriott O’Hare is just minutes from the airport and allows you to get in and out of town quickly. You would normally spend way more time and money to court this kind of customer list.

If StratConn sounds like a good opportunity for you, you will want to act quickly. Registrations need to be finalized this week and, at this point, direct communication with Gary Goff is preferred. The meeting scheduling process starts next week.

ifbat2tWith the positive momentum still in the air from the Manufacturer/Retailer Connection Session at Spring Conference, it is time to remind you of some upcoming events that continue the theme. The 7th Annual IFBA Top to Top Executive Business Conference will be held May 18-20, 2010 at Renaissance Chicago Hotel in Chicago. StratConn Retail Execution Resources meetings will be held on July 28-29 in Chicago in affiliation with the In–Store Marketing Institute. Both events are designed to bring at-retail resources together with brands and retailers who are seeking help.

The annual IFBA Top to Top Conference is being held this year at an exciting new venue. The event allows manufacturers to network with brokers from all across North America. Each year, top national and regional brands fill their daily schedule with B2B broker/manufacturer supplier meetings and network with other brokers and manufacturers at evening social receptions. This year, NARMS has arranged for more meeting space to be available to conference participants. This is also a chance to gain market perspectives from industry leaders such as the Keynote address being delivered this year by Dr. Brian Harris, the “Father of Category Management.” Another added bonus for manufacturer and suppliers will be the Manufacturer Share Group Session, Tuesday, May 18 from 1-4 p.m. We encourage one representative per manufacturing company attend this idea/issue-sharing conversation.

The StratConn Retail Execution Resources event will showcase a range of both manpower and technology solutions for staffing, managing and reporting results at retail. IFBA Top to Top and StratConn are just two more ways that your trade association is working to help you gain and strengthen your customer relationships. We encourage you to consider attending these events.

meetingIn the Tuesday edition of Top Shelf, we introduced you to the Manufacturer and Retailer Connection Sessions that will take place at Spring Conference. These sessions are part of an ongoing initiative to connect trading partners with at-retail merchandising and marketing service companies. Today, we introduce you to StratConn, an event that will take place on July 28-29, 2010 at the Marriott O’Hare Chicago in conjunction with In-Store Marketing Institute. The concept is a face to face event that will consist of invitation only meetings between buyers (manufacturers and retailers) and sellers (retail service companies) over a two day period.

This week NARMS entered into an agreement with the In-Store Marketing Institute to co-produce StratConn, an annual series of pre-arranged interviews between trading partners and service companies. The event will be customized toward retail execution services. The meetings will be by invitation only and are guaranteed because there will be a fee to participate. There will be more details forthcoming about the fee structure and how to participate.

An ongoing challenge of sales personnel is the process of pre-qualifying prospects and getting in front of the decision maker. StratConn meetings will take care of the recon work and put you across the table from a buyer that is actively seeking at-retail help. What better use of your sales, marketing and travel dollars to know that at the end of your trip, you had a chance to present your company’s capabilities to a qualified buyer who has a direct and immediate need?

Stays tuned for more details concerning this exciting event and in the meantime, consider the value that this opportunity could have for you and your company.
