A key function of World Alliance for Retail Excellence & Standards is using its presence and reach to make alliances with other organizations that may be a benefit to our members. Recently your trade association has been in contact with Employment Law Alliance (ELA) and the fit between the two associations seems to be clear. ELA is offering a couple of interesting and helpful opportunities that our members can start taking advantage of immediately.

ELA is an alliance of employment lawyers all over the world. They work together on referrals and shared RFPs and hold an annual meeting so the lawyers network can get to know each other. Their philosophy is that the members can feel comfortable referring their client to another lawyer in the alliance knowing their clients will receive the same level of service.

The ELA has also coordinated the process of ensuring that employee handbooks are compliant in all the jurisdictions in which you operate. They offer a single point of contact so that members would work with only one ELA member and receive only one bill while still getting the services and legal advice from multiple jurisdictions.

Our members are welcome to free registration on the ELA website to access the Global Employer Handbook and any past webinars.

ELA is also inviting our members to their next free 90-minute webinar on Tuesday, June 25, 2013 focusing on Affirmative Action and OFCCP Regulations and Audits: When and How They Apply to Your Business. Visit: www.employmentlawalliance.com and click the webinar title in the Webinars box on the right side of your computer screen. While registering, simply put World Alliance in each of the boxes listed Name of ELA Law Firm and Name of ELA attorney.

Employment law is top-of-mind to all employers, and especially important to the members of the at-retail merchandising and marketing industry, who operate across many different states, regions and countries. Using a resource such as ELA can help make these issues a little easier and allow you to provide greater service to our manufacturer and retailer clients.
