New Year, New Webinar

January 7, 2009 by Dan Borschke

Timing is everything. When it comes to tax issues, the New Year brings immediate attention to federal and state tax filings and the various regulations that are entailed. For the members of NARMS, providers of at-retail merchandising and marketing services, this is particularly true. This is the beauty and the power of our webinar series. It allows us to provide expert insight on a topic exactly when it is needed. On this Thursday, January 8 at 1:00 pm CST, NARMS along with Natural Insight present Federal Tax Developments featuring top experts from Clifton Gunderson LLP.

Jamey Rappis is a senior manager and the leader of the Clifton Gunderson’s IRS Rulings and Procedures Tax Consulting Practice. With more than 15 years of experience, Rappis has an extensive background with a specific emphasis on IRS controversies, including field, appellate and tax court audit levels. He also has extensive experience in various types of IRS audits and tier 1 tax issues, including research and development credit audits, NOL carry backs, and shareholder basis issues. In addition, Rappis has represented corporations, not-for-profits, and individuals before the IRS.

Chris Beaulieu holds special expertise in comprehensive tax strategy and overall planning programs for multiple-entity companies including those in transition and/or new business ventures. His background includes expertise in the area of taxation for property and casualty insurance companies; hands-on assistance with complex multi-state and local sales and use tax issues along with state and local tax planning used to control state tax liability and sometimes create competitive pricing advantages.

During the hour long session, powered by NARMS Associate ReadyTalk, these experts will discuss recent tax law changes that affect individuals and businesses for 2008 and 2009. The focus will be on the benefits available to increase cash flow through tax savings and minimize the risk of cash out-flows due to law changes that may cause more tax costs. Join us in the first step in the process of finding the right solutions for your tax situation - stay in compliance with the law while maximizing your tax benefits.

There is still time to register so make sure you take advantage of this outstanding member benefit. In addition, you may have other members of your staff who you might want to include in the session. This is easily done by simply providing them with the link. Any employee of a NARMS member company is welcome.

We are looking forward to another year of providing you with timely information and education. Join us on Thursday and become a part of the growing number of at-retail marketing professionals who are getting in-the-know each month.
