The Doctor’s Credo is “Do No Harm.” It is an honor to assume the responsibility as Chairman of the Board of Directors of NARMS at this very exciting time in our history. We have seen NARMS become a major player in the retail services arena and everything from this perspective shines Senior Vice President positive for the future as well. I certainly look forward to being a part of the continued growth of NARMS Chairman NARMS and with the outstanding members of the Board, I will attempt to do no harm and leave the organization strongly positioned for future growth and opportunity.
On behalf of the entire organization, thank you to Bill Brenner, Audrey Fry, Mike Marano and Chuck Belding for their time on the Board. Your dedication, time and commitment have been greatly appreciated by all. In addition, I would like to welcome Charles Fanning, Ethan Charas, Jim Fulk and Tory Edge as our newest members to the Board.

What a month April has been. With two record breaking conferences and our membership approaching 500, I could not be more pleased. NARMS is on a roll and I am honored to have had a hand in this progress. There are many reasons a trade association grows and prospers, and the management of the association certainly has something to do with it. But, I truly believe it is the volunteers from the membership that make all the difference. That is why I also believe “The Best is Yet to Come.”

It has been a whirlwind experience during the first six months of 2005. As many of you know, the NARMS community has welcomed me with warm open arms and I am very NARMS appreciative.
Of course I still remember the first day I drove up to the tundra here in Wisconsin last January. The further I drove north, the colder it got. It was -18 F on my first day in Central Wisconsin! It prompted me to ask why I didn’t take that job in Hawaii. Your warm welcome has certainly compensated for the Nanook of the North attire I have been forced to wear well into April.

The 10th Anniversary NARMS 2005 Spring Conference was a resounding success for us. Speaking on behalf of all Manufacturer manufacturers we found this educational, fun and very productive. The tributes paid to Gary Ebben during the course of this conference were outstanding and well deserved. We certainly appreciate all the work and focus that Gary placed on our sector and its expanded role. We look forward to continuing this trend with Dan Borschke and expanding it even further.
